Vintage Runner is a Chicago-based vintage clothing business founded by me, Sam Franzen. I’m originally from Springfield, Ohio, and graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in finance. Although I now work full-time in corporate finance, Vintage Runner remains my primary creative outlet and entrepreneurial passion.
What began as a love for vintage clothing and resale culture has grown into a brand centered on individuality, sustainability, and community. Vintage Runner now specializes in curated Chicago sports and Ohio State apparel, with pieces available through the Vintage Runner Shopify store, a permanent retail setup inside Sakrid Coffee in Lincoln Park, and local vintage markets and pop-up events. Every piece is personally sourced with an emphasis on quality, character, and giving great clothing a second life.
The name “Vintage Runner” represents the long-term vision for the brand. My goal is to continue growing its presence throughout Chicago and eventually create a mobile vintage shopping experience that brings curated inventory directly to different communities. More than just selling clothing, Vintage Runner is about creating a memorable experience and connecting people through sports and fashion.
